Description
Flapper valves are used in a wide range of application in reciprocating compressors or other compressor types. The valves close or open the gas ports in the valve plate depending on the pressure ratio. The common design of the flapper valves yields in losses due to throttling or late closing. The major goal of the research project is to reduce these losses at concurrent improvement of the acoustic properties. The present concept is based on a supporting force acting on the flapper valve. A new valve concept should be developed and integrated in the entire system of a compressor for refrigeration application using appropriate simulation tools and experimental methods.
