Empirical Investigation on Use and Appraisal of Web-based AURIS (Austrian Research Information System) by Innovative Companies

AURIS is a reserch information database on the web (www.auris.ac.at), an joint effort of all Austrian universities. It started to be operative in September 1998 and was initially conceived to foster international schientific co-operation with Austrian researchers. It increasingly intersted companies looking for university experts for co-operation projects in r&d. This study addressed decision-makers and experts in innovative companies in Austria. We concluded that 3 in 4, approximately, of the addressees judged AURIS to be useful in their professional work.
