EMETAD - Enhanced Evaluation METrics for Test and Validation of Automated Driving

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Derivation of new evaluation metrics based on state-of-the-art Existing state-of-the-art metrics are to be checked for their actuality and integrated into the virtual development environment of MSF. Existing specifications, standards (ACC, LKA), consumer tests (EURO-NCAP) and relevant research projects (Pegasus) serve as a starting point. The focus is on applicability in series development projects. In addition to the safety-critical requirements (collision avoidance and reduction of collision severity), further requirements from the subject areas - Driving comfort, - Energy efficiency and - Boundary conditions from the legislation can be considered. The metrics should be applicable for scenario-based testing with predefined scenarios as well as for stochastic testing with traffic flow simulation. During the development of the evaluation it has to be taken care that the evaluations are also applicable to real measurements. This ensures consistency, which is important for future simulation-based evaluation of driver assistance systems.
