Disturbance Direction Finder

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The “Disturbance Direction Finder” is the development of a measurement equipment (hard- and software) for the on-line detection and analyzation of power system disturbances measured at the interconnecting point between two grids, in order to give a diagnostic on the type (fault, capacitor switching, transformer inrush, motor start, broken line(s)…) and the direction (grid A or grid B) of power disturbances. The central part of the software is a signal pattern recognition embedded into a Fuzzy Expert System, which contains the knowledge of dynamic system behaviour and system disturbances.
