Development of a new cast iron cylinder with an optimised piston shape for a 50cc water-cooled two-stroke engine

The aim of this project was the development of a die cast cylinder based on an existing cylinder made of aluminium retaining the given transfer ports and the exhaust port. The layout of a piston shape was designed according to the newly chosen cylinder material (grey cast iron GG25). The combustion chamber received a new layout.
