Description

Trigeneration-systems provide a significant potential to assure sustainable heat-, cold- and electricity- supply to multifunctional buildings and urban settlements. Increasing the use of rejected heat from combined power (CHP) units leads to consequential higher hours of operation and thus to higher electricity production and economic feasibility. Main challenge to accomplish efficient systems is the adjustment of the main components and system arrangements. In the present project an absorption chiller will be adapted to the specific requirements of the coupling with the CHP unit. By means of hardware-in-the-loop measurements and dynamic system simulations different system configurations and control strategies will be analysed under dynamic boundary conditions, optimized and evaluated.
