ConDef - Cantilever Method

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

In Austria, but also internationally, an unexpected deflection development during service live was observed in a few wide-span, prestressed concrete bridges erected in the cantilever method. In this project, not only the causes but also recommendations in the form of limit values for the preservation of existing bridges as well as justified assumptions and constructive rules for planning are derived. The investigations consist of a targeted monitoring of an affected bridge in Austria as well as computational studies on the basis of 3D finite element simulations with the implementation of space- and time-discrete implementation of the latest material laws on the deformation behavior of concrete.
