Components made of powder metal in electric motors

This study deals with the use of powder metals instead of magnetic sheet steel in electric machines. First the material characteristics of powder metals are compared with the one of magnetic sheet steel. Next the possibilities of improvements are checked by the study of research reports on powder metals. A new machine design is possible by the use of powder metals, because three dimensional design of machine parts is possible. The study ends with a view of use of powder metals for electrotechnical applications.
