Project Details
Description
Carbacarbohydrates can be obtained by formal replacement of the ring oxygen in furanoses or pyranoses by a C-H group. In the case of pyranoses they are also called pseudosugars. The properties of these compounds is changed completely because the former acetal bond is now absent showing consequences also in their physiological activities such as sweetness and enzyme inhibition.
