Description

In this project disturbing effects of low frequent magnetic fields caused by currents circulating in earthing and installation systems and methods to reduce the magnetic flux density e.g. active compensation or compensation conductors are analyzed. Besides health risks, magnetic fields can also cause technical disturbances of video display units (jitter), sensible electronic and medical measuring units etc. In electrical power supply systems (50 Hz) as well as in traction power supply systems (16 2/3 Hz) the sources of these circulating currents are differences of voltage potentials between certain parts of the earthing system which are connected either directly with other conducting parts of the building installation in the sense of equipotential bonding or indirectly by interaction of potential gradient areas. In the four wire power system the neutral current flows in the neutral conductor and other conducting paths connected with earth, according to the line and earth impedances. not assigned GG: Eigenmittel des Institutes
