Biomass Gasification - Health, Safety, Environment

Gasification based on woody biomass is a success promising technology for the cogeneration of electricity and heat. The technology-breakthrough should be possible by improvements in process development within the next years. To gain acceptance on national and international level security aspects of the technology also must be taken into consideration besides functionality and economy. Because of the fast market development on the one hand – and the missing guidelines for health and safety aspects and commissioning of gasification plants on the other hand it is time to work on such guidelines so that the technology gets more safe.
