Description

The project BIOLOGIK was a challenge from the technical and logistic point of view. The Department of Traffic- and Road Science (ISV) of the Technical University of Graz (TUG) focused on the goal not only to develop and prepare the data but also to implement them into a simulation. In a first step the logistic process from the felling of the trees to the power plant were analysed and the different transportation chains were calculated on the computer. The design of the simulation offered the possibility to create variants by changing some parameters like transportation means, costs etc.. The company partner should get applicable results, which can be used as an additional basis for making logistical decisions, for the organization of the biomass transport in an even more economic and environmental friendly way.
