Description
Various types of wind-induced mechanical oscillations occur
in high voltage overhead lines. These vibrations can lead to
damage of fittings and conductors and are the consequence of
dynamic stresses caused by alternating bendings in the wires.
The development of realistic mathematical models constitutes
an important tool in the optimization process relating to
the maximal dynamic strains, as it would allow the
simulation of many different configurations. The analytical
investigations of the two- and three- dimensional models of
the wind induced vibrations are the topic in our field. A
comparison of the analytical solutions with the numerical
investigations is also an object of the research.
