Description
In the past the load carrying behaviour of single thrust rings, to transfer longitudinal pipe forces to the surrounding concrete and rock, was studied.
This final project includes some geometric border line cases in practice:
- very slender (hr/tr = 10) and very stocky (hr/tr = 2) thrust rings.
The major part of the project is the interaction between 3 and 4 rings - here the distribution of the overall longitudinal force to the individual rigns is of interest.
Finally a draft of a design manual for thrust rings will be developed.
