Description
The main research activities of the Working Group "Genetics" are focussed on industrial enzymes for biocatalysis. Esterases and hydroxynitrile lyases are the major enzyme classes of interest. Topics include cloning and molecular characterization of novel enzyme species, establishment of production systems by molecular biotechnology and as a major activity engineering of enzymes by rational and directed evolution strategies.
General problems of gene expression and regulation in fungi are also addressed.
