Track behaves in some specific points differnt compared to the through going sections. These points are constructive elements (e.g. bridges, turnouts) as well as points of changing stiffness (different superstructure components, local inadequat substrucutre), alignment changes and starting/ending points of machinery work. Knowing how this points behave is necesarry to tread them right in maintenance, knowing to which factor the behaviour is worse compared to the neighboury sections is essential for formulating investment strategies.
