Robert Gaugl received his doctoral degree (Dr.techn.) in electrical engineering from Graz University of Technology in 2023. He is currently a Project Assistant at the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation, Graz University of Technology, and specializes in modelling the European and African electricity economy. During a research stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston/USA in 2022, he investigated how to define the firm energy of variable renewable energy sources and battery energy storage systems. His research interests are in the areas of renewable energy, electricity storage, techno-economic analysis of sustainable energy systems and energy innovation.
