Research interests

Nelson Silva, is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, at TU Graz, Austria. He completed a Master of Engineering in Product Design and Development Engineering and a Degree in Computer Engineering - Information Systems, from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal.
His research interests include procedural modeling, integration of information systems, and visual analytics, as well as, interactive 3D visualizations and human computer interaction in general.

He gained key expertise in software development and visualization in several international industrial projects, e.g. PLM (Product Lifecycle Management implementations in several Portuguese and Spanish industrial units), DataViz Workflow (project at Fraunhofer IDM / NTU Singapore, for the development of new 3D tools for visual analytics), VirtualDesk (user interface for data interaction on multi-touch tables) and also during his master thesis “OptimalForms – Optimization of Generative 3D Models”.
He worked as a researcher at Fraunhofer Austria, on the following topics: human computer interaction, visual analytics, manufacturing optimisation, air traffic management, multitouch and eye tracking related research projects.

Currently he works at Know-center on topics related with IoT, deep learning and product development.
