In the last years problems in the power supply of electric energy were rising and the institute noted a greater amount of work and application expenditure at condition evaluation, aging behaviour as well as life span of electric energy systems, devices and components. On the one hand beyond the actual high voltage technology are thereby additional work areas in the field of modelling and simulation, diagnostic and evaluation process as well as new maintenance strategies connected. On the other hand we were and are demanded beside these technical tasks on part of utilities, industry and economy to employ considerations about project, asset, quality and risk management, as well as to prepare an appropriate suggestion. Therefore the sphere of activity of the purely technical adjustment expanded to planning, handling and mastering of non-technical tasks and covers emphasis: High Voltage Engineering: --------------------------------- Basics and Applications of High Voltage Engineering High-Voltage Systems, Apparatus and Components High Voltage Test and Measurement Technique Test Methods, Measurement Systems and Monitoring Overvoltages and Transient Processes Lightning and Lightning Protection Numerical Calculation of Transient Behaviour Electromagnetic Compatibility Impulse Current Investigations High Current Technology Material Technology and New Materials Insulating Materials and Insulation Systems Cable Technology, Testing and Diagnosis Cryogenic Insulation Systems Environmental Technique and Electrostatic Methods System Performance: --------------------------- Insulation Coordination and Protective Measures Electric Strength and Life Span von Systems and Devices Condition Evaluation and Aging Behaviour Diagnostics Facilities and Diagnostic Systems Evaluation Processes and Statistical Methods Modelling and Simulation Security of Power Supply and Maintenance Strategies Project and Asset Management Quality and Risk Management Environmental Management Short Description: Beside teaching and research the institute deals with practical performances of high voltage investigations and high voltage tests as well as systems engineering and evaluation of high voltage installations and devices. The institute is divided in three areas: High voltage engineering (responsibility see below), system performance (responsibility see below) and high voltage laboratory, where tests, investigations and measurements of insulations, devices and systems of energy engineering, especially tests and investigations on oil/paper insulation systems are accomplished.

Fingerprint The fingerprint is based on mining the text of the scientific documents related to the associated persons. Based on that an index of weighted terms is created, which defines the key subjects of research unit
