Description
This contribution deals with the current developments in the field of production regarding structured surfaces. The focus of the presented technology benchmark lies on processes with geometric undefined cutting edges (e.g. grinding, honing) and laser techniques. In addition, economic aspects must be considered as topography designed surfaces should not be limited to expensive products. Results of the FFG-project “Synchro-Finish” with the partners IFT (TU Graz), AC2T, AVL, Tyrolit and GST are presented. Correlations between the to-pography of grinding tools caused by special dressing cycles, the grinding parameters itself and the 3D-surface of the workpiece have been found.
