Description

Funded on physical, digital and operational interconnectivity the Physical Internet (PI) has been introduced to achieve an open, global and interconnected logistics network. Next to standardized interfaces and protocols, the encapsulation of goods in smart and modular containers is one of the key pillars to realize the PI and to enable an order-of-magnitude improvement in the efficiency and sustainability of logistics systems. The presentation will focus on the possibilities arising from the use of PI containers and possible obstacles towards their implementation.
