Description

Minisymposium "Discrepancy and Minimal Energy": The arrangement of point configurations on manifolds, whether deterministic or random, is an interdisciplinary topic of great interest in applied mathematics and engineering, physics and computer science. In this three-part minisymposium the talks will explore recent key developments in quality quantification and its asymptotic analysis (low discrepancy, minimal energy, hyperuniformity), application in
numerical integration, manifold discretization driven by self-organization by local interaction (Riesz and Green potentials and soft sticky disc interactions), and explicit constructions and sampling.
