Extension of Energy-Based Vector Hysteresis to 3D

Activity: Talk or presentationTalk at conference or symposiumScience to science

Description

In this work, the extension of an energy-based (EB) vector hysteresis model to 3D is proposed. The model is based on consistent thermodynamic principles and allows an efficient numerical implementation by utilizing the convexity of the negative Gibbs free energy potential, leading to a scalar optimization problem in two variables (two angles in the spherical coordinate system). The applicability of the extended model is shown in numerical examples, simulated with the Finite Element Method.
