Abstract
In this paper first results of an ongoing research project concerning supply chain resilience capabilities of humanitarian and commercial organizations and their cross learning potentials will be presented. To do this case studies on large organizations active in the humanitarian field will be performed. As will be shown by our preliminary results from a case study on one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), there is a strong indication for several learning potentials between the commercial and humanitarian world. These focus mostly on the areas of collaboration, preparation and corporate and individual values alignment.
