Frequency Domain Analysis of Sampled Variable Structure Systems

Abstract

An exact frequency domain technique for the input-output analysis of sliding mode systems under sampling and zero order hold is proposed. The graphical method is based on the so-called locus of perturbed relay system approach. A formula for the computation of the locus for the sampled-data case is derived. Stability properties and basins of attraction of limit cycles are discussed. An example is provided to demonstrate the application of the method.
