Abstract

In this contribution we discuss the simulation based design and application of MPAs (micro-perforated absorbers with special emphasis on MPPs, microperforated plates).Thereby, we present our Finite-Element (FE) framework based on non-conforming grid techniques to allow efficient simulations of large HVAC systems. The MPPs are modeled by an homogenization ansatz using the JCAL (Johnson-Champoux-Allard-Lafarge) model based on Biot-theory. The contribution is concluded by an investigation of the behavior of MPPs under flow conditions.
