Abstract
Software for linear static analysis of plane trusses is developed and implemented in Python. All changes in input data, such as loading and geometry, are almost instantaneously incorporated into model, calculated and presented. Although simple truss finite element is used, modeling of wide range of types of engineering structures is enabled. If appropraitely used, real-time update of results allows better understanding of structural behaviour. Developed software is open-sourced, which gives students insight into finite element source code itself. They are encourged to participate in its development, which can distinguish them from standard users of commercial software
