Structures and buildings designed in the alps are often influenced due to slopes instabilities and landslides. Calculation of stability measures respectively the design of retaining structures are complex problems. In general it is a three dimensional problem but with respect to limited calculation procedures mostly it is simplified by two dimensional modelling. The stabilisation of landslides using the horizontal loaded concrete structures with circular or elliptic cross sections are considered. Interaction between the concrete structures and sliding soil layers are examined as follows. In practical cases, the deformation of the concrete structures can be determined by inclinometer measurements. Following a first part in which the precision and accuracy of inclinometer measurements are determined, bending moments and loading of the shotcrete structure are obtained by back calculation. Furthermore interaction of structures are investigated by help of three dimensional Finite Element analysis. Aim of the project are the further developments in the design rules of retaining structures for landslides.
