Beschreibung

Near Field Communication (NFC) is an upcoming short-range communication technology for mobile embedded systems like mobile phones or PDAs. It follows the natural principle of bringing communicating devices closely together (touching) to share information that is intended to be shared only with the touching partner. Easy connectivity without complex setup procedures is the basic feature. NFC is expected to be integrated into the majority of next generation’s wireless handheld devices. SNAP proposes to develop a system of eCoupons based on NFC technology. eCoupons representing a certain value (vouchers, tickets etc.) require protection against illicit use like illegal duplication, but need to provide anonymity in case of regular use. We propose to investigate on attacks and countermeasures, develop security primitives and protocols as well as working NFC prototypes to allow secure issue and pay in of eCoupons. Prototype implementations of a mobile eWallet for PDAs with NFC interface and a cashier application for eCoupons will demonstrate the potential of the new system.
