Interactive operation planning at the face skull model

For the planning of an operation on heavy deformations in the mouth-, jawbone- and face area, the use of an as accurate model as possible of the patient's skull, is almost indispensable. The surgeon can refine the diagnosis with this model and plan an operation within the surgical therapy based on the model (model operation) for detecting possible problems. This model operation will be redeveloped in the project "3D-model operation planning and transfer equipment" at the University Hospital Graz. By model adaption and by computer-aided measurement and visualization of the model operation planning is to become so accurate that they will transfered by means of a mechanical device directly into the operation of the patient.
