Projekt: Arbeitsgebiet

Conjugated polymers are an intriguing class of organic macromolecules. Many possible applications, such as all-polymer integrated electronic circuits, photodetectors and solar cells, and flat-panel emissive displays have already been realized. However, further improvement of such devices requires the study of the fundamental nature of the electronic excitations, such as singlet excitons (SE), triplet excitons (TE) and polarons, in particular their mobility and their interaction. In this project we study, the interaction of SE and polarons quantitatively by means of a comparison of different experiments, such as photoinduced absorption (PA), photoluminescence (PL), PL detected magnetic resonance (PLDMR) and thermally stimulated current (TSC), time resolved spectroscopy, and other types of modulation spectroscopy.
