The handling of large data sets is key issue in the workflow of the digitized engineering rock mass characterizations (Acquiring and analysie of regionalized geo-information, 3-D visualization and 3-D modeling). We are developing an open data architecture that connects the identified engineering geological information with the selected geo-scientific software tools for simulation and modeling and also with the well-established analysis methods in engineering geology. The emphases are putted on the applicability updating of digitized geo-information in design stages and in construction phase.
