Fluorescence Quantum Yields in Literature: A Database Study from 2016 References

Aktivität: Vortrag oder PräsentationPosterpräsentationScience to science

Beschreibung

Fluorescence quatum yields are still an increasing topic in photochemistry and photophysics. The number of articles in the literature is gradually increasing (approx. 5% per year). Not all authors give reference values when publishing QYs. Very few papers contain exact measuring conditions, such as temperature, concentration or optical density, etc.. Around half of the analyzed papers do not contain the reference molecule together with the reference val-ue. Additionally a variety of different values for the same reference molecule are in use. This is an important task for IUPAC to increase the quality of publications in this area.
The presentation will illustrate the problem in detail including the most frequently used refer-ences, the most frequently publisher of the papers, the variety of used reference values, etc.. Relative and absolute measurements are also addressed. The total number of published QYs in 2016 was 1404, thereof 1265 in liquid phase and 139 in solid phase.
